Right – so the other night I was watching the inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I just felt incredibly old. Bands that I liked aeons ago (some even before their first albums came out) were being inducted.
I remember the first time I heard the Talking Heads – the song was “Love Goes to Building on Fire.” It was like a train hitting me – it was so different. And they had a girl in the band. Oh! I so wanted to be Tina when I grew up (though she wasn’t so grown up herself, I suppose). While it took some time for me to warm to “Talking Heads ’77” – I later fell in love with them again in college. They made me feel – I don’t know – kind of grown up.
